Over the last few weeks you could have been reading about my preparations for the Mobile Connections Conference in Las Vegas. Tomorrow it is time to fly to Las Vegas. These weeks I truly feel like a traveler, having spent last week in the Pacific North East, getting a little sunshine over the weekend in Phoenix, AZ and tomorrow moving on to Las Vegas. Last week lots of things have happened, of course we had the official Windows Embedded CE 6.0 Launch. This time a virtual event with a few people actually attending in person at Microsoft Studio’s in Redmond. Being one of the lucky few to attend the event in person I definitely had a good time. Even better was the possibility to meet with a number of people from different Product Groups within Microsoft to talk about tons of different things in relation to Mobile Devices. I am sure that many folks at Microsoft get requests to talk to tons of people continuously, so I felt very happy that quite a few people took the time to talk to me. Getting lots of information from them of course means that I will be able to inform listeners during webcasts better about utilizing different technologies in combination with Windows Mobile Devices. As a first result we hopefully can create some exiting content around Windows Live during a Webcast series that Jim Wilson and myself will be presenting starting on November 29 and running for four weeks. Details will follow on my blog as soon as they are available. Windows Live has been around for the last six months or so. Some of the services offered are already existing MSN services, renamed and partly renewed. Some other services are brand new and it feels like pioneering to get those services up and running on Windows Mobile Devices, especially if you also have to deal with partial connected scenario’s as well. Preparation for Mobile Connections is nearly done. I hope that we will have a great conference in Las Vegas and that many people do show up. At the same time, and this is the true developer speaking. For me, Mobile Connections already feels like history, so it is time to move on to a number of Webcasts. Oh yes, in the meantime it is better not to forget entirely about Mobile Connections. Hopefully attendees will like this conference as much as all speakers liked to create content for this conference.
