For the first time ever I presented two sessions at a Microsoft Netherlands hosted event, the IT-HerOlympics. Of course my talks were about Windows Mobile Development. Too bad we didn’t have any sessions around Windows Embedded CE. Although, to be honest, it made sense, since we were talking about new product launches and Windows Embedded CE 6.0 uses Visual Studio 2005 to run Platform Builder. I was super excited to find out that the first presentation at the IT-HerOlympics was completely packed, so we had people standing in the room. The second presentation (digging a little deeper into developing applications for Windows Mobile Devices) had a larger room, but still it was pretty much filled. Anyway, I like to thank Microsoft Netherlands for having me speak at the official Dutch launch of products like Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008 and Visual Studio 2008. At least we had the possibility during two presentations to cover both Unit Testing for Devices and LINQ for Devices, as well as many, many other things, like the .NET CF 3.5 Power Toys. If you were attending our Windows Mobile sessions, but also, if you were not attending them since you might not live in Holland, I will make sure to make the sample code available through my weblog over the next few days. One of the things I need to follow up on is how to debug unit tests for devices. Well, instead of showing you a ton of code and explanations here on DotNETForDevices, I’d rather refer you to our How-Do-I video series. Jim Wilson and I have created a huge amount of videos, explaining you tons of things you need to know to develop the best Windows Mobile applications in the world. Since we already talked about debugging unit tests for devices, you can take a look here to know more about this topic. If you want to know more about developing software for Windows Mobile Devices or if you want us to cover some specific topic around developing software for Windows Mobile Devices, make sure to contact me. Just send me an email and, who knows, we might fulfill your request to create a video around a topic you want to see. Having said all of this, I would like to invite Dutch developers to join us for the Microsoft DevDays in Amsterdam, Netherlands, where we again will cover Windows Mobile / Windows Embedded development.
